Raised in 2001, Digitaldubs is the first dub/dancehall sound system in Rio de Janeiro, creating a new chapter in the Brazilian reggae culture.
With a studio and a label (Muzamba) Digitaldubs produced and released a some albums and 7" singles featuring many singers as Ranking Joe (the hit "Fyah Bun Dem"), Earl 16, Tippa Irie, Brinsley Forde (former Aswad), Daddy Freddy, Little Kirk, Lone Ranger, Sylvia Tella, Mr. Catra, B Neg?o, Dada Yute, Jeru Banto and many others.
Other releases are featured in compilations like "Wordsound Made in Brasil", "The Inspiring New Sounds of Rio de Janeiro", "Roots of Dub Funk 5", "Rough Guide to Brazilian Street Party" and the original soundtrack for the documentary "Dub Echoes", released on Soul Jazz Records.
A side from their tradicional parties in Rio, the group made historical nights around Brazil in collaboration with international acts like Zion Train, Mad Professor, Ranking Joe and Tippa Irie. Also joined the main music festivals of the country as Tim Festival, SuperDemo, Abril Pro Rock 2007, XXXperience and Universo Paralello. In the last years they toured Europe and Latin America.
Digitaldubs performed in Ostroda in 2009 with Ranking Joe, now they are coming back with another great Jamaican singer - Earl 16, known from his long solo career and co-operation with Leftfield and Dreadzone among the others.
Digitaldubs CD is a freebie attached to the latest issue of the main Polish reggae magazine „Free Colours”.
