Habakuk is one of the most popular reggae groups in Poland. The band exists since 1990. They will celebrate their 20th anniversary on Ostroda’s stage with a special show including many guests.
The band describes their music as a mix of different styles - roots, rock, reggae, dub. Up to date Habakuk released five official albums. The first one "Mniam, Mniam Rege" that came out in 1998, had a great impact on the Polish reggae scene and received excellent reviews from the biggest music magazines. "Machina" wrote: 'Unique, energetic and natural ability to compose... catching hits. In short it's the revelation of the season. Habakuk fulfills all requirements to become the ruler of the Polish reggae scene. And all because of this album'. Also the second album "Rub Pulse" was highly acclaimed by the media, highlighting its energy and ingenuity. „Rub Pulse” consists of some new songs and jungle versions of some older tunes. The third album called "Muzyka Słowo Liczba Kolor" was released in 2002 and was followed by "Hub a Dub", containing dub remixes of Habakuk's songs. Album "4 Life" was called the most important reggae record in Polish reggae scene in last 5 years. In 2007 Habakuk released their most famous album – "A ty siej" by EMI. It is a special project with lyrics of the famous Polish poet – a symbol of Solidarity Movement – Jacek Kaczmarski.
Habakuk as first Polish artist ever performed at Glastonbury Festival.They also headlined the biggest Polish open-air – Przystanek Woodstock, and played for 200.000 audience. They recorded two songs with Don Carlos.
Habakuk supported such artists like Zion Train, Junior Delgado, Dub Syndicate, Mad Professor, Mikey Dread, The Skatalites and many others. The band played over 400 gigs in Poland, including shows in small and big venues and was the headliner at some of the biggest Polish festivals.
