 Some time ago in our hometown Sosnowiec we came up with an idea, which turned out to be a successful one and it is has been carried out ever since. Skankan, which appearance in the music industry has been recognized as one on the most significant moments in history of the ska music, promotes cheerful tunes with Caribbean rythmes. This energetic and unrestrained "big band" has already been called a legend by the experts.
Skankan can also take pride in many concerts performed not only within the country (visiting such famous music clubs in Poland as: Riviera Remont, Pod Jaszczurami, Proxima, Palladium, Mega Club and taking part in music festivals like Woodstock festival, Africa Need Your Help, Reggae nad Wartą, Winter Reggae), but they also performed abroad - in Prague (Ska & Reggae Festival), Ostrava, Berlin, Frankfurt, Bad Muskau, Cottbus. In 2000 TVP 3 Katowice (Polish National Channel 3) broadcasted a documentary movie about the band. The members participate in many music projects resulting in recordings with Frontside, Püdelsi, Pidżama Porno and the movie soundtrack "Randka w ciemno" directed by Mieczysław Herba.
The band released their new album „Try to Feel it!” in September 2009, followed by a promo tour in 20 major Polish cities and including supporting Babylon Circus at their Warsaw show.
