Ostróda Reggae Festival with its 20-year history is a leading Polish event celebrating music and culture originating from Jamaica. The success of the festival proves the attractiveness and universalism of the content carried by reggae. The festival has gained a global brand, appreciated by fans and artists in many places around the world, and attracts an international audience – young people and families with children.

From the small courtyard of the Ostróda castle, through the “White Barracks” to the unique area of ​​a deserted military unit in the city center – “Red Barracks”, the festival has come a long way over time. Always associated with the beautiful Masurian city, whose name has become synonymous with reggae for many people.

On the Internet, you could follow interviews and press conferences from the festival’s press office. Super Polsat made almost an hour-long report from Ostróda, broadcast several times on the station’s air. Information about the festival appeared in many nationwide media, such as Onet.pl, Polskie Radio Czwórka (long-term media patron of the event) and Trójka. Enthusiastic reports appeared on the pages of the world’s largest reggae portal Reggaeville.com, whose journalists regularly visit the festival. An article about the event was published in Jamaica Gleaner, Jamaica’s largest daily.

Almost 50,000 people have already liked the festival’s profile on Facebook, placing it at the top of the fanpages of national reggae events.

ORF invariably enjoys the opinion of a culture-building event – not only provides the opportunity to see the main stars of the genre, but also discovers artists still unknown in Poland, promotes new phenomena and educates.

For years, the festival has gathered a wide range of audiences focused on peaceful coexistence and social awareness, from young people to families with young children, making it a true family celebration of music.

Ostróda Reggae Festival derives from the previously organized Ost Rock Festival. During the 20 editions of the festival so far, many historical events have taken place on its stages, the reactivation of cult bands, the birth of stars and performances of the most important artists of the genre in the world. Including Thanks to 6 years of constant cooperation with TVP2, ORF has become the most recognizable reggae brand in Poland and has appeared in the awareness of more than just fans of Jamaican music. For years, the festival has been cooperating with the biggest portals, such as Onet.pl and Polish Radio. Ostróda was the site of the official Polish celebrations of the 50th anniversary of Jamaica’s independence, and the Jamaican diplomatic corps honored him with his presence many times.

The audience’s trust is reflected in the honorable title “musical event of the year”, annually awarded to the festival since 2005 by several thousand readers of the reggae magazine “Free Colors”. On the website Miasto Muzyki RMF Ostróda Reggae Festival won the vote for the event of 2009 in the reggae category. On Diplo.com, ORF 2015 was ranked among the top 13 reggae events in the world. Festival coverage and video broadcasting through the world’s largest portal related to Jamaican music, Reggaeville.com, were very popular.

In 2014, the ORF organizers were honored with the “Meritorious for Polish Culture” badges, awarded by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. It was the first such case in the long history of the Polish reggae scene. The city of Ostróda (known as the “Pearl of Masuria”) with its attractive location among Masurian lakes is one of the most attractive places for water sports and inland tourism. Thanks to this, the hotel and tourist infrastructure is exceptionally developed here. Ostróda Reggae Festival with its relaxing character and international recognition is one of the most important permanent attractions of the tourist season in Masuria.
