The Rootsman was a first foreign digital dub producer who visited Poland in 1996. The music world acclaimed him for his open vision and uncompromising heavy sound. Now he is back from the hiatus in a live set with his current brothers in dub.
The Rootsman is a DJ and producer based in Bradford. In 1985 he started selecting on local sound systems before progressing to pirate radio. In 1991 he founded the legendary “Dub Me Crazy” club nights. In 1993 he started his label, Third Eye Music, and earned his reputation as a UK dub pioneer. He released numerous albums and singles, often collaborating with reggae’s biggest names and crossing boundaries between musical genres including dub, electronica, jungle, raggamuffin, world music and heavy metal. The Rootsman has toured across the world and recently came out of a 10-year retirement to start producing new material alongside Inspirational Sound.
