40-lecie obecności na scenie zostało już ukoronowane pierwszym solowym albumem – czas na specjalny koncert podsumowujący ten czas.
Dariusz „Maleo” Malejonek swoją karierę muzyczną rozpoczął w 1983 roku w formacji Kultura, by potem połączyć siły z Robertem Brylewskim w Izrael-Kultura i Izrael. Nagrał z nimi pięć płyt. Pierwsza płyta, na której nagrywał i od której liczy swą obecność na scenie to kultowa „Nabij faję” (1985). Grał też jako basista w Moskwie oraz Armii. W 1989 roku założył zespół Houk, który pozostawił po sobie pięć albumów. Jest także współtwórcą projektów 2 Tm 2,3 (Tymoteusz), Arka Noego czy Panny Wyklęte. W 1997 roku Maleo założył formację Maleo Reggae Rockers, która rok później wydała album „ZaZuZi”. W 2001 roku grupa zagrała trasę koncertową po Polsce z Jamajczykiem Michaelem Black, a rok później objechali kraj z Kofi Ayivor, wokalistą legendarnej formacji Osibisa i Michaelem Black. Owocem tej współpracy są wydawnictwa „Maleo Reggae Rockers & Michael Black live 2002″ oraz DVD „Maleo Reggae Rockers z Przystanku Woodstock 2003″. 2006 to kolejny studyjny album „ReggaeMova”, po którym nadszedł czas na płytę inspirowaną wyprawą Maleo do Afryki – „Addis Abeba” (2009). Była to pierwsza płyta reggae nominowana do Fryderyków.
Zespół uczestniczył również w wydarzeniach upamiętniających Powstanie Warszawskie, żołnierzy wyklętych czy koncertach „Solidarni z Białorusią”.
Latem 2010 roku MRR zagrali na największym festiwalu reggae w Europie Rototom Sunsplash w Hiszpanii, a pod koniec roku do sklepów trafiła kolejna płyta koncertowa “Maleo Reggae Rockers & goście – XVI Przystanek Woodstock”.
Album „Rzeka Dzieciństwa” (2011) zawiera autorskie wersje piosenek m.in. Niemena, Grechuty, Nalepy, Krajewskiego w stylu roots reggae z elementami rock steady, bluesa i funky. Potem MMR wydali „Revolution” oraz „Wake up” (2015). Maleo zaangażował się m.in. we wspólny projekt z Symchą Kellerem (Katharsis) – Native Chasidic Reggae Orchestra.
Nadszedł czas na wydany własnym sumptem w 2025 roku i nagrany w domowym studiu solowy album Darka Malejonka „Zion Vibez”. Posłuchamy go w Ostródzie wraz z kolekcją utworów z różnych projektów Maleo w ciągu ostatnich 40 lat.

The 40th anniversary of his presence on stage has already been crowned with the first solo album. Now it’s time for a special show to sum up four decades of doing music.
Dariusz „Maleo” Malejonek began his musical career in 1983 in the band Kultura, and later joined forces with Robert Brylewski in Izrael-Kultura and Izrael. He recorded five albums with them. The first album he participated, a starting point to count years of his presence on stage was Izrael’s „Nabij faję” (1985). He also played bass in Moskwa and Armia. In 1989 he founded Houk, who released five albums. He is also the co-creator of the projects 2 Tm 2,3 (Tymoteusz), Arka Noego and Panny Wyklęte. In 1997 Maleo founded the band Maleo Reggae Rockers, which released the album „ZaZuZi” a year later. In 2001 the band played a concert tour in Poland with Jamaican Michael Black, and a year later they toured the country with Kofi Ayivor, vocalist of the legendary band Osibisa, and Michael Black. The result of this cooperation are „Maleo Reggae Rockers & Michael Black live 2002” and „Maleo Reggae Rockers from Przystanek Woodstock 2003” DVD. 2006 brought another studio album „ReggaeMova”, followed by the album inspired by Maleo’s expedition to Africa – „Addis Abeba” (2009). It was the first reggae album nominated to the Fryderyki Awards.
The band also participated in events commemorating the Warsaw Uprising, the cursed soldiers, and the „Solidarity with Belarus” concerts.
In the summer of 2010 MRR played at Rototom Sunsplash and at the end of the year another live album, “Maleo Reggae Rockers & guests – XVI Przystanek Woodstock”, hit stores.
The album „Rzeka Dzieciństwa” (2011) contains original versions of songs by Niemen, Grechuta, Nalepa, Krajewski, among others, in roots reggae style with elements of rocksteady, blues and funky. Then MMR released „Revolution” and „Wake up” (2015). Maleo got involved, among others, in a project with Symcha Keller (Katharsis) – Native Chasidic Reggae Orchestra.
The time has come for Darek Malejonek’s solo album „Zion Vibez”, self-released in 2025 and recorded in his home studio. We will check it live in Ostróda along with a collection of tracks from various Maleo projects over the last 40 years.
