POSITIVE THURSDAYS IN DUB (Polska)
Grupa doświadczonych muzyków, którzy nie stronią od eksperymentów dźwiękowych oraz improwizacji jazzowych.
Wszystko zaczęło się pod koniec 2011 roku, kiedy we Wrocławiu powstał projekt muzyczny, będący przedłużeniem audycji radiowej Positive Thursdays. Zamiłowanie do dubu sprawiło, że skład poszerzał się o kolejne osoby i jako live act zaczął grać regularne koncerty.
W takiej postaci funkcjonowali blisko 4 lata, w między czasie organizując takie eventy jak Thursday Bass Addicts, Island Bass Addicts, True Bass Addicts czy 71Hz Unity. Suportowali m.in. Steel Pulse, Michaela Rose’a, Etanę, Twilight Circus i innych. Pojawili się w Szkocji na Wee Dub Festival 2014 oraz Bułgarii na Student Camp Summer Fest 2013. Jesienią 2013 roku jako pierwsza grupa muzyczna zagrali dubową sesję w Radio RAM we Wrocławiu, dając tym samym początek cyklowi koncertów RAM Sessions. W 2014 roku nawiązali współpracę z brytyjskim wokalistą Ghetto Priest (Asian Dub Foundation /On U Sound).
W 2015 roku DJ-ski live act przerodził się w pełnoprawny zespół złożony z doświadczonych muzyków, którzy nade wszystko cenią sobie eksperymenty i wolność muzyczną. Razem wyruszyli w podróż, szukając własnego brzmienia.
Intensywna praca w studio zaowocowała powstaniem nowych utworów. Dodatkowo w 2016 roku do Wrocławia przyjechał Ghetto Priest by popracować razem z zespołem. Efektem tej wizyty jest dokument „Rockin’ In Babylon”, który powstał podczas sesji w studio.
Koncept album „Landing on Planet Dub” ukazał się w 2020 roku, a rok później jego zremiksowana wersja „Remixed On Planet DUB” (m.in. Vibronics, Chazbo, Suns Of Dub, Dod/Violinbwoy czy Jabbadub). Byli też backing bandem Rootz Underground podczas ich europejskiej trasy koncertowej w 2024 roku. Obecnie pracują nad nowym albumem „Reggae Is a Living Music” na który zaprosili artystów z całego świata.
Koncerty Positive Thursdays to szerokie spektrum reggae i dub. Przepełnione improwizacjami występy sprawiają, że żaden nie jest taki sam. To zabawa muzyką i swoiste przeniesienie idei sound systemowego żonglowania tempami na organiczne brzmienie zespołu.

A group of experienced musicians who are not afraid of sound experiments and jazz improvisations.
It all started in late 2011, when a new music project was created in Wrocław, aimed to be an extension of the Positive Thursdays radio show. The love of dub made the band expand and as a live act they started playing regular concerts.
They operated in this form for almost 4 years, in the meantime organizing events such as Thursday Bass Addicts, Island Bass Addicts, True Bass Addicts and 71Hz Unity. They supported Steel Pulse, Michael Rose, Etana, Twilight Circus and others. They appeared in Scotland at the Wee Dub Festival 2014 and in Bulgaria at the Student Camp Summer Fest 2013. In the autumn of 2013, they were the first music group to play a dub session at Radio RAM in Wrocław, thus giving rise to the RAM Sessions concert series. In 2014, they started cooperation with the British vocalist Ghetto Priest (Asian Dub Foundation /On-U Sound).
In 2015, the DJ live act turned into a full band made up of experienced musicians who value experimentation and musical freedom above all else. Together they set off on a journey, searching for their own sound.
Intensive work in the studio resulted in the creation of new songs. Additionally, in 2016, Ghetto Priest came to Wrocław to work with the band. The result of this visit is the documentary „Rockin’ In Babylon”, which was created during the studio sessions.
The concept album „Landing on Planet Dub” was released in 2020, and a year later its remixed version „Remixed On Planet DUB” (including Vibronics, Chazbo, Suns Of Dub, Dod/Violinbwoy and Jabbadub). They were also the backing band for Rootz Underground on their European tour in 2024. They are currently working on a new album „Reggae Is a Living Music” and they invited artists from all over the world to participate.
Positive Thursdays shows are a wide spectrum of reggae and dub, full of improvisations, no two performances are the same. It’s a kind of transfer the idea of sound system juggling tempos to the organic sound of the band.
