WORLD REGGAE CONTEST – TOP10, FANS’ VOTING STARTED

The promoters of World Reggae Contest at Ostróda Reggae Festival in Poland selected TOP10 out of all received applications. Now the fans can vote for their favourite artist using Facebook. Five bands will play at the main stage of the festival in the final show on 14th August, streamed live by Reggaeville.com. The voting is open till 13th June. Direct link: www.bit.ly/WRC2016VOTE

The semi-finalists are: ADAHZEH (Jamaica), ETNA KONTRABANDE (Poland), I&I (New Caledonia), INTERNATIONAL DUB AMBASSADORS (Puerto Rico), PERSONS OF INTEREST (Jamaica), QUARTIERE COFFEE (Italy), RAPHA PICO (The Netherlands), REGIME (UK), THE DUBBEEZ (The Netherlands), WICKED DUB DIVISION (Italy).

Piotr “Piter” Kolaj of Positive Music Promotion, the promoter of Ostróda Reggae Festival says: “We love all the bands we have chosen. They are very talented and original, each of them have their own unique style. We are very honoured they decided to participate in the Contest. We would be happy to have them all playing at our event, but now it is the audience’s turn to choose the finalists.”

After successful first edition of the Contest last year and Chainska Brassika going for a recording session at Harry J Studio in Jamaica as winners, World Reggae Contest 2016 attracted attention of 81 bands from 31 countries, including many applications from distant places like Jamaica, USA or Brazil. International jury of authorities at site will decide on a winner. The best band will go for 5 days free recording session in Kingston with world-known producers Stephen Stewart and Sam Clayton.
The final show from Ostróda will be available as live video stream through Reggaeville.com, an exclusive media partner of the Contest.
