They have known each other and have been cooperating for years, but it is not easy to see them on stage together. Professionals of Polish roots and one of the most important reggae figures in the Balkans.
The beginnings of Duberman date back to 2002. The band was started by Paprika Korps’ Piotrek, Dr Emzk – a novice adept of dub music, the bassist for Katharsis, Village of Peace and Natura – Bhakti and guitarist of Bakshish, Mario Tolo. They were joined by Marek – the drummer for Świetliki as well Sławek and Rafał – DreadLion’s musicians In 2004, Mario Tolo left, replaced by Jacek (former leader of YereYereLi). In 2005 they supported Horace Andy in Cracow. 2006 marks their first album „King of the Day”, followed by numerous shows in Poland and abroad. Then the band fell silent for several years, playing rarerly. Emili Jones, the bassist of the Vavamuffin and Ludziki joined Duberman and in 2013 they released the EP „Duberman is Back” and performed at the Ostróda Reggae Festival. The same titled album was published a year later by Karrot Kommando. Guests include Pablopavo, Junior Stress, Miodu (Jamal), Magda Sobczak (Warsaw Village Band) and Diggy Dang (Reggae Rajahs, India). Interesting music and unique sound generated at Studio As One met with a warm reception. The album was promoted with the single „Moving Around”, with the pictures shot in Georgia, while the song speaks on a need to explore the world.
Coming from Serbia, Hornsman Coyote, leader of the Eyesburn band, is a musician, vocalist and trombonist with great achievements both as a writer/composer and a session musician (including Lee Scratch Perry). The Poles could first see him due to performances with Joint Venture Sound System and Ghetto Priest and know him from two solo albums „Self Defend You” and „What Next?”. Last year Duberman played a club tour in Poland with Hornsman Coyote.
